This book has olive green cloth covers with the title in gilt lettering on the front and spine, and a black illustration around the title. The corners of the front are quite bumped and there is a small fold in the cloth of the front board, but the cover is relatively clean.

Inside the spine is starting to crack slightly at the title page, but the binding in the rest of the book is secure and no pages are missing. The pages are quite clean with no major marks and minimal foxing, even on the first and last pages. There are many illustrations and black and white photographs throughout the book, all of which appear to be present.

Although this book has no publication date, a note opposite the first page of the introduction states that a similar work on cathedrals is due to be published in 1914 and also lists this book as a second edition. Therefore it was published in the early 1910s.

Overall this book is in decent condition and would make an excellent little gift any fan of a good church crawl.
