A vintage postcard from 1937, with a colourised picture of a girl inside a number 5.
The front of this postcard shows a girl with blonde hair and a turquoise dress, inside a large number 5. The top reads "Many glad wishes on your 5th birthday", while the bottom has a poem that reads; "Because you're five years old today, I send this little greeting gay. To wish you joy and lots of cheers, A very happy birthday dear."
On the back of the postcard is a pencilled message (with a lot of spelling mistakes) that reads:
"To wish a very B day, sorry I am a day lat but I forgot untill now. they all send thare best to you. Do come and see us soon with lots of love and kiss from your loving Mallie (?)"
The card is addressed to Miss Cresswell at The Croft, Coleshill, Birmingham. The postmark over the stamp is dated 24 November 1937.
