A little piece of history for the budding linguist! A Short Italian Dictionary volume II is an abridged version of the larger dictionary created by Alfred Hoare. Originally published in 1919 and reprinted several times over the years, this edition is from 1944.
Title: A Short Italian Dictionary Volume II: English-Italian Author: Alfred Hoare Publisher: Cambridge University Press Publication Year: 1944 Pages: 421 Size: 14.6 cm x 21.6 cm
This book has a pale blue dust jacket with red print on the front, spine and back. The spine of the dust jacket is much darker than the front and back, either through dirt or exposure to sunlight after sitting on a shelf too long. The corners and top and bottom of the dust jacket spine are mostly torn or frayed.
The boards of the book are a light mossy green with black lettering and the publishers mark on the spine. The spine is in good condition, no pages are coming loose or appear to be missing and they are all clean.
This book is ENGLISH into ITALIAN, so cannot be used to translate Italian back into English (unless you have a rough idea of what the Italian words mean and want to double check).
