Sophocles

Sophocles is one of ancient Greece's most famous writers. He wrote over 100 plays in his life, but only a handful survive, including "Oedipus the King" and "Antigone". His work introduced to Greek drama the concept of a third actor and reduced the role of the chorus. He was victorious in numerous drama competitions, and is believed to have died at the grand old age of 90.
